99 DIYPNP + Toyota COP?

I have the 1.5 Rev kit. This did not come with high current ignition drivers, and they were not on the "buy" list for a 99 on the diyautotune.com site.

Do I need them to drive the Toyota COPs or are the logic level drivers going to do it for me?

I also built the alternator control circuit in the proto area as laid out on the diy site. Is there a way to bench test this circuit to see if I did it right?

I am planning on using the on-board knock control with the stock sensor. That is 2F (3F on MS) on the factory connector. Do I hook this to the + knock in or the - knock in? What settings do I use to get this to work right in TunerStudio?

Thanks,

John

The popular Toyota COPs do not need high current drivers.

Wire the sensor to the + pin; the - pin is a signal ground.

That circuit is Jason Cuadra's design. They should mention that.
Apply input voltage (say 12V) and slowly raise it. At the same time measure the output. The output will follow the input up to about 14.4V. When the input goes higher, the output drops to zero.
output voltage = (1 + R3 / R6) * 2.45
R6 should also be 1%

Thanks, guys.

Sorry, I got the circuit design secondhand (or third, or fourth) and wasn't sure who the original designer was. Docs have been updated to give him credit.
