AC Idle Up Always On

I have a MSPNP2 for my 1996. Everything is stock. I started messing around with the AC settings because it would die after I give it gas. Now it doesn't die but I noticed on tunerstudio it shows that AC Idle Up is always on. It's always idling at around 1200 now. Is there anything I can do so it just turns on AC Idle Up when I turn the AC on? Let me know if I have to shop my current idle and AC settings.

It depends on whether you have the V1.2 or V1.3 board. V1.2 board has a physical adjustment knob on the board and as such the idle up can't be configured in TS. Throw your TS settings but if I had to guess, I'd say you have a V1.3 board and have the AC on/off input jumpered incorrectly on the board and are not forwarding the right signal to the right place.

More detailed: If it is a version 1.2 board, the AC on/off input from the car comes in and is directly connected to hardware to control the AC, these boards have a potentiometer knob to adjust the AC Idle up. Version 1.3 boards offer software based configuration by allowing you to JUMPER the AC on/off input into either the FLEX or LAUNCH input on the board. This creates a bit of a problem because there are only two useable input pins (Table Switch (formerly Flex) and LAUNCH (formerly PE1)), but 4 inputs you may want to configure: AC on/off, Flex Fuel, launch control, and table switching. I somewhat wish I still had a V1.2 board as they can do three (because AC on/off is hardware based entirely).

What I would recommend: find out if it is a V1.3 board. If so, jumper AC on/off input to LAUNCH and unjump the "launch via clutch switch" to avoid going into AC Idle Up every time you clutch in. Then you still have the FLEX input for flex fuel or table switching.

I figured out the setting in TS that was keeping it on. Sorry for the late response but I'll look inside the board to figure out which one I have and just do it from inside of the casing. I appreciate the help.

You can tell what board you have from outside. If you have a DB15 expansion connector you have a 1.2. If you have DB26 connector you have a 1.3

Also, when you do figure out a solution to a problem please post that as well. Just saying you fixed it doesn't help the next person who might have the issue.

Glad you got it sorted.
