Add me to the list
Well there it is, I'm buying a MSII from DIY and building it myself ground up. With ample help from my room-mate the electrical / computer engineer.
I'll be taking the plunge some time this summer and should be running stock for a bit before heading for boost. |
You're lucky. You aren't knee-deep into the turbo built when the pnp came out. Looks like I'll have to do both projects at the same time.
|
Well I'm not buying the Plug and play, i'm actually gonna solder and everything because the plug and play is 400 dollars more and well why pay more?
Has anyone gotten to play with the rev limiter yet? I don't plan to take it above stock but I do want to know how well the Iginition Limiter works, is it soft limit (sparks every other) or full limit with back fire and all? |
Yeah, I saw you were building yours. Just making a comment about you doing your install in a much smarter order than some of us other people. ;)

Tom do yourself a favor and buy a decent soldering iron. This right here is probably the best deal for a cheap unit that's reliable and servicable. You can get replacement heating elements and tips...
http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/7307 I have one and love it. For a few bucks more they have digital but it's probably overkill. |
I agree...$8 ones from Walmart = suck.
and yes the rev limiter acts just like you are describing... |
Hmmm...wait I seem to recall a certain someone with a large and startling backfire....no who could that have been?...rev2red Lol. Seriously when your car backfired i think cora nearly had a heart attack she was standing just a little bit away from the food table right behind your car.

That one looks pretty nice and doesn't cost too much, I'll have to ask my room mate about his, he says its a 45v and quite nice.

I don't remember it backfiring.... but if it did it was a poor tune problem...not the rev limiter...i wasn't close to it.... my soft cut is 6800, when I get there the car kinda feel like it lost steam, hard cut at 7100. here's how to set: https://www.miataturbo.net/braineack...revlimiter.jpg https://www.miataturbo.net/braineack...evlimiter1.jpg |
sweet deal, thanks.
