AFM Removal EMU vs MS3

Hey guys,

my MS3 from MSLabs has arrived. At the moment I have still installed my Greddy EMU without AFM on my 93 B6.

Now I checked the AFM removal post from Joe and compared it with this installation guide from https://www.trubokitty.com/#/installation and wonder, why there are different pin descriptions.

At the moment my temp sensor is connected to pin 1 and 5. Do I need to rewire it?

Also the fuel pump pins are welded like in the picture above.

And a further question.

The installation guide of https://www.trubokitty.com/#/installation said that the EBC solenoid valve should also get wired to the AFM connector. The installation guide from MS Labs tells that it should get connected with one of the cables of the 37-way connector. So what to do?

Thanks for help.

For your first question you need to read the description instead of focusing on that gorgeous illustration. Joe is bypassing the fuel pump switch entirely. Brain is using the MS to control it.

Second question, brain's instructions rely on the MS being wired the way his assembly guide indicates. With the way brain builds them the wire from the DB-37 connector at the ecu is actually connected to the oem wire that leads to the AFM connector. That's actually the same thing that is going on with the FP jumper and temp sensor.

Point is you can't take installation instructions from brain's site and apply them to a MS built by someone else.

Temp sensor instructions from here: https://trackspeedengineering.com/fi...20V3%20140.pdf

• On the US 90-93 1.6L (and European 94-97 1.6L), the GM sensor replaces the sensor that is inside the AFM (Air Flow Meter). Disconnect the AFM, and pull back the rubber boot of the AFM's connector. You should see 7 wires on it. The GM IAT connects to the red/green and black/green wires. No polarity
