I have this:
Megasquirt EGT Interface Module - SymTech Laboratories
And i have my mspnp apart, ready to attack it with my soldering iron. However on their website it states that it needs a +5 volts, which could be pad 5 on the 3.57 board. But in the instructions that it came with it states that it needs switched 12 volts + or - 4 volts....

My question before i go doing this the wrong way. Has anyone either built their own circuit or use this one here? What voltage did you use to power it, +5 vs +12?

What will need to be changed to get this up and running nicely. Any tips to a first timer soldering on a mspnp?

it should be a 12v source.




It looks to be the same circuit using a 8-pin thermocouple.

What gauge are you using? I ask because I've been looking for an EGT gauge that accepts 0-5v. Most I've seen want the thermocouple to plug directly into the gauge.

I was thinking of calling Westach and seeing if they could do it. I've read of a few people that had custom gauges made there. It's just a volt meter inside one of their regular EGT gauges. Can't be that hard.

I checked Autometer's site but they don't list the 4365 any more.

The entire point of the Symtech circuit is to eliminate the need for a gauge. The sensor wires directly into the MS so you can view it on the laptop if you want, but otherwise it's hidden.
