Alpha N or Hybrid Alpha N

Anyone running a VE map using something other than Speed Density? How different is your map compared to just SD?

Im asking this as I have some IRTB's I'm getting ready to fire up :)

I've read on the MS forums that Hybrid Alpha-N is the way to go with IRTBs. I can't attest to the differences myself because I haven't had the time to put in my plug n play setup yet :P.

Just switch to Alpha-N before the IRTBs. In fact, do so before you order them.

Too late for that!

Plus I have the 1.6 dummy TPS. My IRTB's have a 0-5v TPS.

nice! I really like the distribution block too, it really tidies up the bay!

Nice! Are these from Fuji Racing?

Woah .... holy crap ... so you ditched the turbo or something? IRTB's seem pretty cool to me, but ive never driven a miata with em (or anything with em for that matter).

By the way, ive heard that underdrive pulleys in the past have caused engine failures because of poor dampering ... specifically unorthadox pullies. I just thought i would mention it.

Yup, Jimmy was great to deal with.

I thought about a turbo or S/C and decided against it. I like to take my car HPDE's and it would just make it a bit less reliable than I wanted.

Its a major problem for Inline 6 BMW's, not so much for low powered 4 cylinder Miata's.

I started it up yesterday and it ran pretty decent on Speed Density but it idled MUCH better on Hybrid Alpha-N. I still have a busted diff so I havent drove it yet.

Megasquirt is the bomb!!!

I drove my car for a bit today with the new IRTB's. The Hybrid Alpha-N works pretty damn good. I still need to get to the dyno.

So what sort of power shift can be expected with this setup? I know that the runners make a difference in the results you get, but I always figured they were good matches for agressive cams and high rpm power while not performing as well as stock at lower rpm

ideally the intake runners should be built with a linear actuator and a controller so that you can nail the hemholtz numbers as much as possible. The major advantage to his current setup is the low throttled volume... should be nearly instant response. It will also breathe a lot better and sound cool as hell.
