Am I an idiot?

So I finished building my megasquirt(ms3+ms3x combo with a nippondenso n76 diybob with help from others..) my current setup is a 93 NA with Prius cops and an AEM wideband o2 sensor.
Anyways to the point; I've been told that I'm an idiot using tunerstudio to get the car to actually idle then simply driving it/datalogging it/using tunerstudio Ms to autotune it, am I truly being an idiot and missing steps? Or am I okay?

Braineack 07-13-2016 07:09 AM

You're not an idiot because you want to use the software that's required to tune your ECU to tune your ECU.

I cant speak to anything else...

...if you have to ask

But really: what are you even asking?

You're using the software, that works directly with it... The other person(s) are the idiots :eggplant:

Maybe they meant he is an idiot because he is not using a dyno to tune his spark map only tuning fuel with Tunerstudio?

NOT using Tunerstudio and autotune to tune your fuel table would make you an idiot, but you are using it, so I say no.

Monk 07-13-2016 12:36 PM

Maybe he is trying to autotune idle?
Op, tell us more dumb stuff.

The poll results are in :giggle:

Haha! Wrong group of guys to ask that question to.

mmmjesse 07-13-2016 04:16 PM

i voted yes because that is the kind of person i am.

to truly answer the question though, you are ok to use autotune to adjust your driving fuel. idle fuel seems to be best done manually. be warned autotune does nothing with your ignition advance so that could be bad news on your engine if you are forced induction and running aggresive timing. it could be bad no matter the setup depending on the aggresiveness.
