Another aem wideband reading off from tunerstudio

Hi guys i have an aem wideband and for some reason it is reading a about .5 to 1 off from my tunerstudio gauge. I've read pretty much every thread on the matter and tried multiple grounds from where the ecu is grounded and a few other places in between. Calibrated it to 1.09v to 12.18afr and 4.05v to 18.10afr as in the gauges instructions. Running out of ideas :/

Try using slightly different values... Change by a decimal and see if your reading gets further away or comes in closer and keep tweaking to try to get it as close as you can. I tweaked the recommended values to get TunerStudio to match my MTX-L gauge. I think I managed to get it within +/- 0.1 when it was off by 0.8 or so with the recommended values. My gauge/controller is grounded at the ECU.

My own experience with one AEM UEGO gauge was similar to yours. It seems that the calibration of the analog output simply ain't quite right, such that it doesn't match the published specs relative to what the gauge is displaying.

Easiest thing to do is just alter your calibration within the software to match.

Ah thats pretty simple. Guess that didn't come to mind at all. Will do! Thanks!

Figured it out

Do you have a new-ish AEM, or is it an older one? I thought that AEM got this straightened out in the past year or so.

Its an older one.

What did you end up doing? I have the same issue here.

If you've already checked to make sure your grounds are good, just keep calibrating with different numbers until it starts reading right. Example: 1.09volts-12.18afr and 4.06volts-18.1afr and if tunerstudio is reading lets say 1 point richer then you just change it to 1.09v-13.18 etc.. until your as close as you can get

Yeah I have a newer one (~4 months old) and it is calibrated perfectly in TS.

Having similar issue with my lc-1. Where are you changing values to make the gauge read correctly?

Try wiring it again. They are usually very, very close if the grounds are done correctly.

LC-1 instructions are not explicit about where the xd 16 gauge is grounded. All four grounds, two system, one gauge, and the ecu all need to terminate at the same point to avoid any potential voltage offsets. When this is accomplished you can manually change the offset. I think it is a natural mistake to ground your gauge to whatever is close and not to run the wire to the common ground, which leads to all of these threads recently.

In analog electronics it makes sense that it would be very difficult to get a perfect match between two systems.

I know this I quite an old thread but I wanted to add. Say you did go in and change the voltage or reading from the manufacturer suggestions. Would that just make the afr more accurate in the area where you fixed it? Wouldn't it be off a little once the afr strays away from say stoich? I had to do this exact thing but I'm finding that depending on where my afr is that tunerstudio will be off anywhere from .1 to .3 afr. I cannot get it to be steady .1 off or. 2.
I am going to try and ground everything at the options port if I can and see if it changes.
