Anyone have an msq for a high compression 1.8?

9.5:1, 1.8l, 1000cc injectors. I just need it to start up. I probably won't run it longer than thirty seconds since I have no sensors hooked up other than tach. Thanks in advance!

ScottyP3821 04-25-2014 03:03 PM

Why would you want to start it anyway if all you have is the tach hooked up? Lolwtf

DKdekes 04-25-2014 03:04 PM

Because I'd like to see if my wiring/tach input is solid

You didn't give any pertinent details, like NA/NB, or MS1/MS2/MS3, etc etc. All MSQs are not the same...

DKdekes 04-30-2014 08:16 AM

NA, MS2 V3, catless, 10 psi target (wastegate pressure).

Since when is 9.5:1 considered high compression?

DKdekes 04-30-2014 11:53 AM

Its higher than stock isn't it?

thenuge26 04-30-2014 12:01 PM

No, it is stock for 99+

DKdekes 04-30-2014 12:31 PM

It's a '94, I said NA. Could I possibly run a tune for an NB? I'm going to be messing with the tune, but I'd like to have a timing map that I know won't blow up

thenuge26 04-30-2014 12:38 PM

You run the tune you have the sensors for. If you have a 94 harness and sensors, run a 94 tune. .5 difference in compression isn't going to matter if you're just running it for 30 seconds. If you're really that paranoid, you can run a spark map from a 99+ (I can dig up one of my old ones, you don't want the one I'm running now since I'm running on 87 octane).

I'd really appreciate it thank you
