Barro Correction Stuff...
Is this necessary, I'm trying to read about it...and I understand the whole altitude thing, but compared to the MAP sensor that comes with the MS1 V3 unit...is something like the MAP daddy needed?
I go to school in the mountains (3-3.5k feet) live and travel to places near sealevel often....is that enough to fuck with a tune real bad? |
3000 to sea is probably enough to screw things up.
At 3000' the atmo. is near 26.81 ~hg. At say 500', closer to 29 ~hg. |
mapdaddy will give you real time barro correction. You don't NEED it. But it's nice to have, especially for the small difference in cost. Especially if you want to run closed loop boost control.
|
As Megasquirt takes a barro' reference reading every time you start the engine, if you have real problems due to altitude change whilst out driving you've only got to stop, turn off and re-start and Megasquirt will correct for the new altitude.
Isn't that enough? |
Unless you are really ----, what Justin suggested will do fine (you still need to enable baro correction in Megatune).

I'm really ----...and poor...and don't want to fry things.
This stuff cost to much money. |
If you are concerned, go for it. I *think* Jerry charged me around $40 to go with the dual map sensor.
|
its only an extra $65 right? you can still do it all for under $500.
|
^Thats right.
So far I have: $220-250 in the MS $150 in AEM +$65 in the Mapdaddy and I still need to figure out if I want to mess with the wiring.. |
