Base timing/spark map for 1.6 with 460's and a t25 at 10psi

Title pretty much says it. Looking for some timing maps to compare so I can get a good range of what's acceptable. I understand the fuel maps I think, just scale them based on the ratio of old injector size divided by new injector size but I'm pretty lost when it comes to what I want in a timing map. Any maps people want to post to help give me a general idea of what I'm looking for as far as spark and timing goes Would be appreciated

Thanks,
Chad

search around, the spark map isn't going to change with the injectors. You should also read the post about the guy who blew up his motor recently.

searched but didnt really find something i feel comfortable using.

Im just looking for something pretty conservative just to get everything running, make sure everything is functioning properly, take it around the block, and get me to a dyno shop.

anyone got something safe to run?

Braineack 08-01-2011 03:52 PM

the map i loaded?

Techsalvager 08-01-2011 05:36 PM

diyautotune has pretty conservative spark map from their website

Brain, is the map you loaded safe for boost too? Didnt know if you just set up the atmospheric cells.

Again I'm pretty hazy on tuning stuff so sorry if im being an idiot

I've always been curious, how safe is their base map as far as timing? Anyone get any knock on it? That's what I'm running right now and I don't hear much of anything on det cans nor do I see any OPG fluttering

Blaize 08-02-2011 05:46 PM

its VERY safe.

Look at theirs and then compare it to what others on the board are using. It's really conservative. I've been playing with the idea of just bumping the whole thing a couple of points to see if there's a noticeable difference. Don't get carried away without detcans at a minimum.
