Can Anybody Make Firmware?

Hi i am wondering if some one on here can make a custom firmware file, or knows some one that can? I have a 1.6 turbo car using a MSPNP 1 with hi res 10 firmware. With MS1 the after start enrichment temp values are fixed and set up in the firmware, as a result only go up to 71c coolant temp. This makes sense since you don't need ASE for a warm engine, but i want to use it to help with hot lean restarts. Can anybody verify, would the firmware need to be redone for this or could i change something in the configuration file in my project folder?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Looking into this a bit more, i need to make a new s.19 file. Can anyone do this or tell me how to do it?

There are other ways to solve the hot lean restart problem that worked pretty well for many who used ms1 in the past. Maybe try that path first.

ASE is not the solve for hot restarts.

reading what we did 10 years ago to solve it is...

This is what i have done so far, let me know of there is more i can do. I have set up my coolant related air density curve to keep my gammae at 100% and offset the air temp correction, this got hte AFR from in the 18's to in the 16's on a hot restart. Then i turned on ego at idle to richen things up further and get some stability in the 14's and then once i get going things go back to normal in a minute or so. I dont see anything else i can do other then use ASE, i have no use for my two coldest temps currently in their so i can make better use of two warmer ones. The reason i think it still is lean on restarts even with IAT correction offset is maybe the injectors heat soak too as has been discussed on here. Not sure what else can make the fueling go so lean.

where is your AIT located?

cruisin 06-28-2018 06:15 PM

Intercooler end tank just before where the pipe that goes to throttle body hooks up. I did notice better stability with IAT's while moving in this location, they stay right around ambient. But still increase on hot restarts, just went and messed around with this. Outside temp is around 30 celsius, turn car off and restart after 5 mins and IAT is 38, gammae was around 108 i believe and still ego adding 10% to richen up towards my target. Then i dirve around and IAT comes back down to 30 where gammae is 105ish but ego still needs to add 4-6 to be within my target.

I find that as the car gets hotter, idle slightly gets worse and ego needs to add more to stay within my target. I usually sit around 95-99c coolant temp. Idle is fine as car warms up, and once it gets around 90's for coolant temp ego stays around 100% but as car gets hotter it adds fuel. Could this be my old rx7 460cc acting up as they get hotter?, using them with 1.0 dt and .10vc.

Those injectors should be run at like 1.6ms deadtime. I dunno if gammae is 100% sounds like you have other issues if the ait is in the end tanks.

Ya not sure, would you mind looking at a couple short logs to see if anything stands out. Ill attach my tune file as well, also it runs ok at 1.0ms dead time for the most part anyways. So one hot restart is with 1.0 dt and other i used 1.2dt for which i reduced each ve value 20% with the calculator to get afr's back to normal. My tune file is as i drive with now for 1.0dt. You can see with 1.0 it starts off in 16's then ego richens, with 1.2 its in the 13's to start and towards end ego is pulling fuel.

IAT still heat soaks after turning car off, but one improvement i did notice after putting it in the end tank was when i am moving it stays at right temp and takes longer to increase/ barely does when stopped and car is running. Before when i had it in the ic pipe just before throttle body it would constantly be hot from engine bay temps.

Hey, im still messing around with this. I looked at the airdenfactor file and set up my coolant related air density curve so that gammae stays at 100% and does not try and pull fuel as temps go up. Looks to be fine there. I heat soaked all the way up to 48 celsius yesterday, outside temp was 32-34c and car sat for about 15 min and thats how high it got. Gammae at 100% but afr in the 16's, ego adds a bunch and richens up. PW looked fine and is what i normally idle around.

Today i was running the car and looking at some things in tuner studio, IAT was sitting at a steady 29-30c and my idle PW was somewhere around 1.6-1.65. I shut the car off and restarted after 10 mins, IAT was only 31c but AFR again in the 16's and my PW was in the low 1.7's Gammae 100%. I attached a log of this with recent tune file if any body wants to look. So not sure what is actually causing the AFR to be so lean??

I think the reason IAT will still heat soak even being in the intercooler is because hot air and can still go into your intake and through the IC and warm up the sensor. One thing that may have made a difference for this recent log where IAT did not warm up was with the way the car was sitting it had the wind blowing right at it and through the IC so maybe cooled it down and IAT's as well? Not sure if that makes sense, just a thought.

From my experience messing around with this for a while now is no matter how i setup up the coolant related air density even having gammae well above 100% AFR's still go lean. Not sure if the whole injector heat soaking theory is correct either since PW looks normal. This is why i wanted to try my ASE idea, i don't know what else could work.

Open to suggestions and ideas if any one has anything.
