can anyone help me with this?

It's driving me nuts, the car runs flawlessly, apart from these hesitations, they mainly happen at cruise but as shown in the datalog it also hapens occasionally on a WOT run :(

any advice offered will be most appreciated as I've no idea how to get rid of it!

interesting. I need to start messing around with datalogging, but wanna get wb02 hooked up first. Um I see a spike in dutycycle and pulsewidth just prior to the hesitation. have you played with your spark table in that region (looks like 95kpa / 4200rpm)? Dosent too much ignition retard cause similar symptoms? I remember stumbling when i accidentally set my stock miata to 0 degrees base timing lol. I think too rich will cause a bit of stumbling, i dont know how NBo2 signals are supposed to come out, but it says your around 13.09 right there which seems perfect for hard accellaration.

I agree... your WBO2 looks like your AFR is damn near perfect. I'd lean toward spark tables first. How much timing are you pulling?

Al Hounos 10-21-2006 03:24 PM

His AFR says NB. And I'd check all the things that could affect injector control, your VE table, Accel enrich, Gamma enrich, and turn everything off just to be sure.

Something is causing it to pull fuel, I really wouldn't know what would do that aside from settings.

kyle242gt 10-21-2006 04:44 PM

Silly question, but you don't have overboost fuel cut on, do you? How about overrun fuel cut? TPSdot or MAPdot? Decel adjustment?

That datalog looks like coolant sensor is acting up, that probably contributes to your problems.

EDIT: I just didn't read the MIN value.

VE table ain't perfect as I'm still on a NB sensor (WB on the cards in a few weeks)

Accell enrich I really struggled to get right my numbers are loads higher than everyone elses for some reason? no Idea what gamma enrich is?

What else should I turn off?

Al Hounos 10-21-2006 07:25 PM

I would turn off everything that affects fuel. accel, EGO (gamma), plus anything else. make sure there are no strange dips in your fuel map, look at it in the 3D mode in realtime tuning.

What makes it really boggling is that is that it is inconsistent, but it looks like it is something the MS is doing, not a bad connection or misfire. Someone who knows more really needs to help you.

Are you running fuel and spark or just fuel?

God I'm so glad you think it's MS tuning related rather than a bad connection, that would be my worst nightmare! ;-)

I'm controlling spark and fuel (and Idle!)

I'll try disabling EGO, is it a good idea to disable accel enrich? won't the car become undrivable?

rich can you do a log like you have and add IAT, KPA, and TPS feedback. For the time being disable Coolant / IAT related advance.

I can do all that except TPS as it's no hooked up despite my best efforts (that's another issue!) Is this still any good?

OKay here we go,

Everything is disabled that I can think of, weirdly without any AE my car used to be a dog to drive, and now it's pretty much the same as with AE....very odd. I swear there's something weird with my car!

I've attached 3 datalogs and my msq with everything turned off aswell.

(the 3rd datalog I played around with the spark table a bit dunno why I did it tbo...)

Rich I'd recommend you figure out your TPS sensor. The TPS AE works awesome. Did you build your MS or did you buy it.

I built it, all b my lonesome (apart from a lot of help from this board and Jerry ;))

If I get out of work early I'll have another go.

Refresh my memory, I connect pin 22 to which wire? I thought it was 3F, but last time I tried that when I went to calibrate tps I just got a very slowly rising signal and no change when I moved the throttle....
