Can I see your boost duty table pretty please.
 
I just got my boost controller, made the harness etc etc.

I'm gonna throw it into the car today. I know how to tune it, I must have read the procedure about 10 times on here when various people did it. But to be ultra safe, I would really like to see what boost tables look like for 10 psi on the T25 or similar(Gt2554).

I know at least 3 people use this turbo and have EBC, so if you don't mind can you post up your tables or just tell me what duty value you use to achieve 10 psi.

fill the target table completely to 100% DC.

turn your overboost 1-2 psi above your target goal.

go log a 4th gear pull.

note the rpm you reach your target.

subtract about 200rpm from that number and make that your second column at 100%.

first column should be 100-500rpm at 100%.

third column will be the rpm you hit your target.


now from the third column on, drop the DC% to 10%. log another 4th gear pull.

keep increase the numbers 10% or so until you reach your target and maintain it.

if you notice a drop in boost, pinpoint the rpm and add a few % in that column.

after a few quick pulls, you should be golden.

as you can see, like i stated above, i make 10psi at 3200rpm in 4th gear, so i let my solenoid open just as i reach that point. no overboost, pure spoooool. I have to almost completely let the solenoid open as i near redline. 3" ftw.

Wow, that's a drastic difference. What exhaust were you running before the 3"? Stock?

which is garbage technically and no better then the stock I bet.

Thanks for the numbers anyway, at least I now know not to go over 50% in any case.

Hey scott. Help me out, I cant find it in the search, what settings do I need to use in the boost control menu?

Also, what should the Boost KPA Targets table look like? I know im not gonna use it, and if so how do I disable it?

Use the settings in the mspnp msqs. They work fine.

Just a guess, but set all the kPa targets to 225, and then set the closed-loop limit to 0 or 1?

Set the threshold to 20 or zero if you can. The settings in the MSPNP MSQ do not use the KPA targets so use them.

Well EBC is really something else. Before the EBC id see 6psi by 3000rpm, with EBC I see 12 psi by 3000rpm and it pulls completely differently. Much much stronger early on, def a worthwhile investment.

That was before I sorted my ebc circuit problems. The fet was grounding on the heatsink and the solenoid was basically always closed.(first time I hit boost cut I nearly pissed myself)

Anyway, I sorted out the problem but now I have different issue.

With the car off I get 100% duty, 0% duty, or anywhere in between. Whatever I set in the table is what I get in the dashboard and the solenoid acts accordingly(clicks when it should and at different rates based on duty). So with the car off it acts exactly as it should.

After I start the car, the boost duty instantly becomes 0% no matter what I do. Anything I enter in the table it still stays 0, and the solenoid doesnt get any power either. This leads me to believe its something with my settings.

Revving the car in place sometimes makes the duty gauge blip for a second, and I recorded one run where I actually got 100% duty for like 3 seconds.

Chad recommended I change my open loop setting in the more settings menu, not the boost control menu to 70 as opposed to the 100 it is now.

Basically id like to know if this is normal, does everyone else get 100% duty during idle? or what can be causing this?

OK.

EBC works but it only goes to 100% duty when the MAP reaches 98KPA. I have no idea why.

Any ideas?

Because below 98 kpa you don't need to keep the solenoid at 100% duty? Not sure what the problem is.

Hmm well now that its working, something is causing me to hit 10psi almost 600 rpm later.

I bet it using the ambient KPA setting in the boost control menu as the trigger for duty cycle.

OK. I spent all evening last night comparing my logged runs with the ebc closed when the circuit wasnt functioning and when it was working.

Even with the ebc being always closed from the borked circuit, logging always occurred around 100 kpa.

Prior logging showed that 10psi hits at 3k rpm. So I made a column at 2800rpm all 100 duty, and at 3000 like 35 duty. After taking another log with these settings the log showed that 10 psi came on at higher RPM. 3600rpm.

Looking at the log it seems that the EBC opening at 2800 is causing the turbo to lose a whole bunch of energy. Plus my 6psi actuator probably isnt helping since it would be more sensitive to boost signal.

I changed the columns to 3000rpm 100% duty and 3200 45% duty. Ill see what happens today and let you guys know.

Oh and one more thing I noticed. If I sit in the car and lightly tap the gas, I can hear the solenoid click. So it is actually closing as it should. The dashboard however doesnt show 100% duty, and I believe that has to do with the ambient KPA setting in the boost control menu, which I will also test today.

Got it sorted out. It works how it should. Basically I wasnt following braineaks instructions. Flooring it in fourth and configuring. In fourth it makes 10psi at 2900 RPM. Which is beautiful.

Now I need to make it have better part throttle boost response.

Does that means I need to configure the lower TPS rows with higher duty then the 100% row which nets me my 10psi. Correct?
