Can't open files with Tuner Studio 0.999.9b
I upgraded and now, when I open an MSQ I get this error:
http://i55.tinypic.com/iefm6f.jpg So I click no and get "Unexpected error occured opening this project". I can close that window, then open my .msq What is the difference between a project and an MSQ? I keep all my data in a directory on the desktop since that's just about the only thing I use that computer for (aside from interspieces porno). |
Interspieces porno is highly under rated but I'm flaky myself with TS Lite.
I did the whole "aquire" thing initially where it shakes hands with the ECU etc but then it seemed a bit convoluted. Since I have good old drop out prone Megatune I never pressed the issue... |
trey, have you upgraded firmware lately? the new install may not have access to your current firmware or the project you last used.
project: car definitions, dashboards, settings, etc. msq: just the shit that loads onto the megasquirt box. |
You will need to set up your project first.

It's a bug with them disabling communications. I can't find it now but there was a thread on msextra about it. It's already fixed and will be in the next version.
|
Thanks everyone. It looks like FatKao may be on to something. It's no big deal for me, but I'm trying to get Machismo and Johnwag set up.
|
|
Ok, I tried to adjust some things on my car today, and following the instructions from Ben, TS hangs on the "finish" step and will not create a new project. It also will not connect to the controller at all.
|
I just uninstalled TunerStudio from my laptop and reinstalled the newest version off the EFI Analytics website. I can't replicate either of your problems. The version I just installed is 0.999.9b_RC4 from this site:

I'm going to remove and reinstall...then leave for my race.
|
It looks like there are 2 problems here.
One like stated above, you need to create a Project to communicate with your controller. Double clicking an msq creates a temp project for viewing, but is not intended to communicate with the controller. That is why comms is disabled now if you select to use a Temp project. Secondly, 0.999.9b had a bug causing the "Unexpected Error" message when opening a Temp Project. 0.999.9h has this corrected. |
I'm on .9h, get with it!
your welcome for the useless post |

my MS3 is still on v.28...I think there's been like 10 versions since. Granted I haven't driven the car either.
|
I'm waiting on TiAL to send me CHRA bolts before I drive the car again.
|
I'm running an Rev built MS3 Basic. Getting the same "Unexpected Error occurred opening project." Any advice on what I should change? Recently upgated TunerStudio v3.0.12

Start a new project, looks like Tunerstudio somehow corrupted your old one.

1) Renamed project to Old_Miata 2) Copied it as Miata (previous project) 3) Renamed last uncorrupted msq as "CurrentTune.msq" 4) Connected to MS and kept the Controller tune. 5) Saved the tune. This allowed me to keep all my old, uncorrupted, saved tunes, as well as logs. Once all was well, I deleted "Old_Miata" project. |
