Changing settings in MS3PNP w CAN module from MTX-L to AEM X-Series UEGO

Trying to switch out my POS Innovate MTX-L to a new AEM X-Series UEGO wideband using a Trackspeed supplied MS Labs CAN wideband module. MTX-L failed on about 1/2 warmups, sensors no help.

Connected AEM serial blue wire to module pin 2. AEM Gauge reads great. but nothing to Megasquirt dashboard.

Tried changing device CAN1 CAN wideband module settings to AEM 30-300. No help.
Tried changing module CAN ID from default 9. No help.

CAN EGO, GPS is set to Innovate format as no AEM exists in dropdown.

Tried changing Project properties, CAN devices and can ID. NO help?

Suggestions?

If not how the heck do I configure just go analog?

Did the module work with the MTX-L?

Yes module itself worked great with MTX-L, also using OBD extender and that worked great also.

Just had so many problems with fail to warmup, sensors failing and E8 codes always at wrong time or during track tune I wanted to switch to AEM.

Will it work with single blue wire hookup on MS3 1.4.0 firmware which I know how to use or do I need to upgrade to 1.5?

Can I keep OBD if I hook up to analog? Can’t remember analog settings as changed so much to run CAN module?

Is it the best time to upgrade anyway as polishing tune on new track motor getting ready for dyno to finalize Tme Trial tunes?

Yes, connect to the blue wire. From the module's settings, select "AEM UEGO". Do not select "AEM 30-0300", this setting is to connect it through the CAN Bus, as the V1.4.x firmware didn't support a CAN connection. However I do prefer the serial connection instead. The OBD port will continue to work regardless of any other settings.

One small note: When changing the wideband type in the module's settings, you need to switch the ignition off and on. If you didn't, then this is why it didn't work.

Do not see AEM UEGO available?

Sorry AEM 30-41xx. On the MS3's Fetch EGO Data, select "Innovate Format"

Thank you for the input so far, some background;

A couple years ago when I originally installed the Trackspeed MS Labs CAN wideband module & Innovate MTX-L, I had the same problem getting it to read. (Yes it could be me) Andrew with Trackspeed was nice enough to sit on the phone with me for 45 min while I changed settings, pulled cover off to check lights, and it finally started working?

A bit of a time difference between Florida and Athens, thinking you don't celebrate Thanksgiving? Wish a call was possible?

Wiring I am good at, as have done it for a living on aircraft and aerospace for a really long time. Getting electrons & codes to talk to each other is another story.

For some reason my POS Innovate connector looks like this. Note: black and blue wires swap sides on connector. White is actually pin 2 on the CAN module serial side & is connected with environmental splice to blue AEM wire & gauge itself works great.

Use caution when converting Innovate harness to use on AEM. Its not the blue wire that would match nicely. Mine wrang out to the white wire for pin 2. Yours may differ as even on factory AEM plug they swap colors at plug.

Pulled up old tune to compare settings and noted AFR / EGO control Use Authority table option was (off on old tune where wideband worked) and (on with current tune) ???

Here is a barrage of screenshots. At work so don't have access to car.

Open the module and check:

1) The SERIAL LED should be blinking. If it isn't, either the AEM 30-41xx is not select in the module options or there is a communication issue with the AEM gauge through the blue serial wire. In this case the module outputs the "Error" value to the ECU through the CAN Bus.
2) The CAN LED should be blinking. If it isn't, the ECU isn't configured to query the module through the CAN Bus (or the correct parameters are not set) or the module is not properly wired to the ECU. In any case, the "ego correction" parameters don't matter. As long as you have configured "1" wideband input and it is set to CAN EGO, and the CAN EGO is set to Innovate and 9/0/0 it should work.

Success; I didn't change a thing from previous photos.

Reverant AKA Dimitris: Thank you for your time.

Think I scared it when the screwdriver came out & I opened laptop & turned on ignition one last start before module opening.

Will update & clean up photos with final settings for future reference.

Finalized termination on adapted Innovate harness, works like a charm. Responds on warmup quickly and no offset needed.

(Note to people converting harnesses, my Innovate harness wire colors may not match yours? See first plug photo. Wring out yours to find pin 2.)
