Closed Loop Idle
I'm not sure if it's working on my setup.
first off the Fidle/Spark box is always flashing, is that right or not? Secondly, just using warmup only give me an average to poor idle, it's livable, but if the outside conditions change I have to change the settings. With Closed loop the cranking DC setting makes a difference when change it, I.e. after cranking I set it to hold at 1500rpm and then settle to the idle for whatever temp the engine is at. However, the target idle setting have no effect whatsoever, after 30 secs to a minute after starting the idle falls to below 900rpm, but when the coolant reaches 90degC it raises to around 1000rpm. I've set the minimum DC to a range of settings from 1 to the cranking DC setting and the closed setting the same, to no discernable difference. Am I going mad? |
You can test your setup by unplugging the IAC. You'll probably discover that
it idles the same with the valve fully closed. |

I never got closed loop to work well. Using warmup only works great though. Except for when I have headlights on and fan on full, it idles a little low. Keep forgetting to get the ol' laptop out and fix it. You could maybe try my settings?
My car won't cold start at all without IAC. |
This is the reason I left in the factory ECU. Idles almost as good as stock and didn't require any extra work on my part.

nevermind here they are
valve freq 32 cranking 17 low temp 17 (2000rpm) high temp 10 (900rpm) slow idle temp 140 obviously you'll need these will run a little differently on your car, but they should get you close. |
