Default Ground Pins on DB37 (pcb V3.0)

I don't have my MS V3.0 with me, but I did notice an awful lot of ground pins.

I see a lot more inputs on the MS-II, and want to use those! Can I cut the little ground traces to the pins on the DB-37 (i.e. it's connected on the outer plane only) or are those pins hooked up on an inner layer of the board?

It'd be much more slick to use the original connector instead of cutting a hole for another DB-9 or something. I really want to be able to log EGT's and I'm out of pins.

Thanks!!
-Abe.

Even with using all of the SPR outputs you're running out?

I've seen some harnesses where people only use 3-4 of the 20000 ground pins.

you filled all the spare and iac outputs?

Er, well.... I'd forgotten I hadn't used SPR1 and SPR2, but I have used everything else.

Spare 1/2 are CANH and CANL, and if I'm already tight on inputs before even running the car, I have a feeling I'll be in the reals of a GPIO board soon - and I don't want to tie up those lines just yet.

Then again, if I WERE to run another connector, doing it for GPIO would be how I want to do it.

Then again - it just seems dumb to have 14 pins of a 37 pin connector wasted. If 30 seconds with a razor blade gives the V3.0 board as many i/o pins on the connector as there are on the CPU (dumb not to), I'm in.

i mean, i only use 2-7-8-9-17-18-19 as grounds...the rest ARE wasted, however, i don't need them....you only get to the point where the cover to your db37 connector is hard to screw shut because of so many darned wires

I'm going to post an excel version soon. Not done yet. I'm still deciding what to let the OEM ECU see. Right now I think it's alternator and AIT.

Really, you can buy an alt controller for $12. So I might do that. SOON the evil mazdaness will leave my car.
