Could someone explain to me why my car is making little, rought power?

That's my spark table. Before you say anything about its aggressiveness I'm still running NA. I made it aggressive in order to regain some power that was lost in the installation of the MS, which I will get to next.

This car, with the MS, probably has on the best part of 80rwhp. If that. It also accelerates slowly and roughly. Funny thing is though, it runs beautifully. Idle hoovers ~900-1,000rpms with no backfirage. Timing was set with a timing light.

Here's a datalog from hard acceleration:

Any advise?

Oh, and one more thing: I've narrowed down the lack of power to the MS. I reinstalled the stock computer, and bam, it ran perfectly.

When did you install? Also, could you post your whole datalog?

Installed two days ago now.

Datalog is attached to this post.

That spark map is too aggressive. Especially for a NA car. You're running about 7 degrees too much timing for maximum power at your 101 kPa bin. You didn't start with a 5.0 Mustang timing map by any chance?

more timing != always better

Thanks guys.... So given that 10 degrees below is still lacking in power and very rough, should I meet in the middle?

how did you tune your fuel?

Basically stock map loaded onto the MS. I'm going to take a more in-depth look at fuel this weekend when I get my LC-1 hooked up properly.

bingo. this is the problem. I'm betting whatever base map you got is running way too rich.

Pull seven or eight degrees of timing out of that map - everywhere - to start with.

I was actually thinking pull 12°, tune fuel, and then maybe start thinking about putting a little bit timing back in on a dyno. If the engine is still in one piece.

Waaayyy too much advance.
