Crank No Start MS3 97

1997 Miata
MS3 from MSlabs
IAT sensor
Stock O2 sensor and everything else.

Vacuum line ran to throttle body
STSign fuse removed
TPS calibrated
Fixed timing to 10 degrees
Only error TS shows is AFR0 Fault.

I smell gas in the exhaust, when I hook up a timing light and crank, there's only one flash per 15 seconds of crank.
Cranks well, but absolutely does not start, no sputter, no attempt to start at all.
Google-fu has left me at a dead end, suggestions?

Well I dropped in the Innovate wideband O2 sensor and MSlabs O2 CAN module, the AFR0 fault is gone, but still no start.

Take a composite log

I'm pretty new to this, so hopefully this is what you meant. Took a log while cranking. Got one small sputter of life on the first cold crank, and then nothing after.

Look up youtube videos or articles on composite logs, I can find some documentation later if you can't find something. Quick reply, there's a tab in TunerStudio called something like "high speed logger", make sure composite log is selected in the drop down, check the box to save the log and name it, hit start, crank until 3 lines show up on the screen, and either post the screenshot or log file (which will be in .csv format) here.

I ended up Emailing MSLabs to get their take on it. Dimitris told me that even though I can smell gas in the exhaust, if I don't hear the fuel pump prime then its simply not getting enough fuel. I opened up the MS3 and moved a jumper that allowed the fuel pump to function like it should. Started up no problem.

Now I need to figure out why the CAN O2 module is only outputing 14.7 AFR in TS even though the wideband has heated up and been driven for 10+ minutes. Innovate MTX-L if anyone has suggestions, otherwise this thread can close. Appreciate the input!

Did you go into the tools and calibrate the afr guage? Click the drop down and select your wideband from the list. It uses the voltage supplied by the wideband that is sent to the ECU to figure out the AFR. I assume you're saying your wideband is reading correctly, tunerstudio just isn't seeing what your wideband shows?

Modules are shipped by default for the AEM UEGO serial protocol. You can configure the module for the Innovate instead.
