cranking no start

hi everyone, ive got a 1989 1.6 eunos roadster just upgraded my ms1pnp 9093 v3.57 board for a ms2 diypnp, i have repinned the ecu connectors as the MS2 is configured for a 1997 1.6
but the car wont start, i have bridged the fuel pump on to see if its a fuel issue but no luck.
i have a log of this.

Your map sensor boucnes around like the engine is cranking, but there is no RPM signal and no injector output. Something is wrong with the CAS inputs to the megasquirt, most likely.

Your map sensor readings don't look right either, they shouldn't be so saw toothed through cranking like that.

I suggest you go back and triple check all your repinning.

this is the pinout i have followed, only thing i really had to add was two extra wires for sequencial injection. this ms2 is alittle different its running sequencial ignition to toyota cops which is connected to the 15 plug, the previous owner said it worked perfectly like this

Just so we are 100% sure and I can be sure I didn't do this to you telling you to cut the signal ground wire.

This is the one wire I asked you to cut, you did remove just this one wire and not any of the other three solid black wires? You can see where it attaches to the ECU harness in this picture. It is not white and black, but green and black. The flash makes it look white, sorry about that.

Attachment 230598

If you removed any of the other three wires you might have lost the CAS ground, that won't work.

Also, your megasquirt is configured wrong for sequential. Sequential spark requires WLED and ALED on a MS2, you are attempting to use it for both the cooling fan and coil on plug (4 spark outs.) That also won't work, you don't get cooling fan or AC control if you run sequential spark on MS2.

hi, yes i cut the black wire with a green stripe, im not sure about the WLED and ALED? sorry im not too clued up just learning as i go.
also on tunerstudio it says 'Not RPM synced'

Zammish24 11-23-2016 04:23 PM

so ive done some diagnosing, im getting no fuel or spark, the two signal wires from the cas has continutiy to the ECU, i just dont understand why the ECU dosent pick up any signal

It's probably because it's showing a config error. It can't make spark or fuel squirts if it has no idea the engine is turning.

In tunerstudio, under boost/advanced is the programmable on/off outputs. You will see a green light for ALED or WLED, you need to turn that off. If you have "coil on plug" selected under the ignition settings ignition options/wheel decoder it uses WLED and ALED as secondary spark. If you have a config error, it shouldn't do anything other than reading the inputs as far as I know.

Then you need to make sure your cooling fan thermoswitch still works so it doesn't overheat idling or something. If you followed DIYPNPs directions, you might have moved the cooling fan trigger to WLED or ALED. You will need to undo that, redo it like the PO had it.

ive disabled the WLED no change :/
but i did find this http://www.extraefi.co.uk/pdf/MX5PnP.pdf
thats my setup

ive got it working now the cas input 4F needed repinning however the car is misfiring very badly so i assume theres more wiring issues that need amending.

Please take photos of all the wires going to your coil packs, trace them back to the exact pins on the megasquirt itself please. Are you 100% certain it's sequential coil on plug and not wasted spark coil on plug? There is a pretty big difference, half your shit won't be firing if you've got it wrong.
