Default wiring in launch control to my home built MS1v3.0

been searching for a launch control write up that is simple enough for me to read all morning but since im kinda slow i have not been able to fully understand what im doing. i found this page so i think im on the right track:
MSnS-Extra Hardware Manual

so according to this i should be able to run a jumper wire from JS11 to SPR4 and then run pin 6 of the DB37 to my clutch switch to make launch control work.

i just want some confirmation before i start soldering stuff. thanks for your help

yes JS11 works but you should build a protective circuit in the proto area like this:

otherwise you risk burning up the ecu

is that really necessary for a wire that only sees a ground signal?

and does the vertical 1N4001 diode need to be attached to the ground side of the switch or could it be to any chassis ground?

i was thinking :

place it after the other one in the MS case and attach the other side to the ground pad in the proto area.

some people do not and never have an issue, but it should be done.

think of it this way, a helmet is only neccassary when you wreck.

here:

DB37 - 6 IN to JS11 through active low input.

If I were doing it, I'd do DB37-6 straight to JS11.

thanks for the help. wired JS11 straight to SPR4. ran the wire to my clutch switch and grounded the other side of the switch to the pedal assembly. works awesome.
