Datalog with TPS inst. of MAP?
Hi,
is datalogging with the TPS the same as with MAP? Setting VE table and use Megalogviewer with log to reach ist? I haven´t driven the car with TPS now and wanted to know that before. |
Hello Kristian,
We may have a bit of a language barrier, because I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to ask. I assume you drive a naturally aspirated 96 Miata? TPS = Throttle Position Sensor, Relates to the position of the throttle in its range from fully closed to fully open MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure = The density of the charge in the intake manifold TPS is usually used to fine tune things such as idle control and acceleration enrichments. Maybe boost control with a turbo. MAP is used to determine engine load. I believe you might be asking about acceleration enrichments, which with MS1 can be either MAP based or TPS based. Naturally aspirated, you generally want to go with TPS based. You use MAP based with forced induction. MS2 has much more sophisticated acceleration enrichments. |
Sorry for beeing so unspecific.
My car is a 1.6 with ITBs and TPS. I switched the MS PNP to Alpha N. Normally I drive a log, load the log and the *msq to the VE analyzer. The result is a new map. So my question is if there´s a change when switching to Alpha N instead of MAP based accel? Edit: I changed to hybrid alpha-n. Can someone give me an advice how to tune the engine? |
