DIY MSII - Am I on the right path?

Hi Guys,

For the record, I've searched but found nothing that comes close to a similar situation as mine. I have a Turbo NA that is waiting on me to finish building it's MSII Standalone.

I am referencing various resources on the net for information -

Main source: Assembly Guide - MegaSquirt(R) V3.0 Main Board

Braineacks thread: https://www.miataturbo.net/useful-sa...asquirt-13676/

Joe P's Input/output mods: Megasquirt 2 Assembly - Miata Turbo FAQ

Here is where I need some advice on. I am currently on Step 50 in the megamanual. This step calls for installting either a Hall/optical set up or a VR circuit. My understanding, the stock Miata will require the Hall/Optical set up.

My question is: will the mods listed here fullfill steop 50 or do I need to complete step 50 (Hall/optical)?

This is as far as I have gotten, including step 62 which is the PWM Idle Valve.

Last question:
Aside from the Joe P mods, what else do I need to consider?
- Fuel pump?
- Inverted Spark?

Any tips, tricks or advice is greatly appreaciated. Thanks!

At this point, you are better off using the MS2/Extra V3.0 Hardware manual for the assembly guide. It is more geared towards MS2/Extra builds.

Thank you for the reference Matt, I appreciate it. It appears this manual is much more detailed. Hopefully it will help me clear up my questions.
