Dyno Results of my "Crazy" timing map
Im now back on stock cams so im not making more power then i was on stock ecu but the cams are the diffrence.
I did a few pulls to fix anylittle bumps in my street tune which was pretty close to perfect.
My old best was 106.81hp and 95.52tq with web cams and stock ECU.
New best was 103.78hp and 94.57tq with Stock Cams and Megasquirt.
My Super Agressive timing map that peaks at 39* made 103.78hp and 94.57tq(final MSQ and Final Log)
My Semi Agressive timing map that peaks at 34* made 104.7hp and 89.38tq (run 3 log Msq and Run 3 pull log)
The Hp Diffrence is up top I have fixed that but didnt dyno it, just put the timing * from the semi agressive map into the Agressive map for 6300+rpm.

Had a friend who wanted them, since i was planing on pulling them for Integeral Stage 3 or R1 cams anyway. I pulled them for him since he had cash ready, and i needed to retorqe my head bolts.
Only thing that makes me go wtf Is what the AFRs and HP do up top.

The diffrence in peak power is up top were the 39* map falls off up top back down to 28*, i have since changed that to hold 39* to redline so it makes more up top.
And even if i couldng gain back that 1 peak hp the extra 5tq peak is worth it. Plus look at the graph lower in the rpm nothing but extra power for free.

No run 3 is at 34* while run 5 is at 39*.

Looking at the dyno graph you posted...
34*, 104.7hp
39*, less hp
31-32 is the ideal timing to run on a miata motor. You probably will find a few more ponies if you get it back to about 31*. It will run smoother too.

Your not gonna convince me that 39* makes more power. Your dyno session just proved that anyways. Your timing table sucked before where it was like 39* and then fell way off at redline. Why would you do that again? Makes no sense whatsoever. Do more research on timing and get a pair of detonation cans. You're gonna break something playing with timing like you are without a good knock detection setup.

the red line is the run at 39* its 5hp 5tq higher all through out the RPM range except for where i back timing off up top which i have since put back in.
