DIYPNP 1993 Miata Starts and then dies
2 Attachment(s)
So..I finally pulled the trigger and built a DIYPNP ecu last month. I am attempting to get the car running on this at the moment- my issue is that the car struggles to start, starts and then dies in a few moments.
Here is some background on the car: 1993 California Miata 1996 1.8 engine swapped - this was done before the DIYPNP, and car ran fine on stock 1993 ECU MAF removed, GM IAT added Everything else stock at the moment. I am new to the TunerStudio software and have done my best to calibrate the 1990-1993 base map found on DIYautotune. I have figured out a few small items, but still am questioning the TPS setup for this. I have disconnected the stock TPS connector since the original 1993 throttle body is in place and does not provide a TPS signal. I have jumpered the DIYPNP TPS board signal to ground on the adapter board with a 1K resister per the instructions, but the log still shows a weird TPS signal. Is this something to correct? Any ideas appreciated, attached is a data log from the start attempt and the tune files. Thanks. |
Did you build the diyonp with sequential injection? Is it set to run sequential in tuner studio?

you're only running on (2) Cylinders, you need to make sure all (4) injectors are connected to the MS outputs.

Thanks for the replies:
Yes, I think I did wire the DIYPNP board for sequential injection. Per the 1993 Cali instructions I have wired the IN1 output to 4Z and 4V, and IN2 to 4U and 4Y. I have tried running the ECU in both batch and sequential modes with the same result, perhaps a wiring error? Braineack, how can you tell the car is only running on 2 cylinders? Looking to learn how to diagnose that. I believe I have all 4 injector outputs wired to the MS outputs, but I could be wrong. Thanks again. |
i simply made the assumption that you only hooked up two injectors.
looking at the log it seems like it's just just runs out of fuel, or doesn't ever stabilize. i dont see the idle pwn % log |
So I swapped around the injectors to different combinations with no luck, my first setup seemed to run the best. How do I turn on the idle pwm % logging?
