Default WRX Injectors

What's involved in getting these to work? I did a search and found that they're a direct fit except for some length issue. Can someone elaborate?

Are there the 440cc's?

They should be PnP..., IIRC they are shorter so you may have to use a different spacer on the rail (I had to use a couple of washers for my DSM's)

I think they're somewhere around 425-ish.

So all I need to add is a couple of washers? Then its definitely worth it for the price.

The pink ones are around 420ish, but supposedly if you clip the caps they're good for around 700cc.. Defiantly post up more info when you get it.

Pink injectors are around 550, the factory blue injectors from the 02 - 05 are about 425. Blue injectors from the 06 - 07 are around 550 as well.

If you clip the caps you get 850cc's. I will try to post a picture to show the difference between the two. I have used both sets in my WRX.

Left are the JDM pink sti injectors, right are clip 02-05 wrx injectors. I'll try to get a picture of the factory unclipped injectors. I think they should flow enough for miata purposes, Getting to fit is another thing. I have an extra set and i'll see if they fit on my miata later on in the month.

btw -these injectors go for about 30 - 50 a set on Nasioc, clipped (Cap mod) sets go for around 100. Clipped sets also vary in flow from 800 - 850 so becareful if you choose this route, try to get sets that are matched well. If you guys have questions about these, I will try my best to answer them.

If you have a stock miata injector lying around, can you take a detailed pic of both side by side so that the length difference is apparent?

30-50 hmmm....looks like I will have to do some bargaining.

THe injectors are about 2 and a half inches long.

Excuse the weird picture sizing, I don't have photoshop on this computer and was too lazy to get on my other one.

Cool...I just found some info on the Subaru forums:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...7+injectors%22

The gist of the thread is that the #195500-2020 RX7 injectors fit the WRX, only issue being they are a little longer and the manifold-side seat is a little larger.

So it should be the exact opposite for the Miata. Interesting.

When I get the time, I try to pop on the WRX injectors to see if they fit on my 1.8.

Okay, thank you for clarification... I get *** backwords on that stuff sometimes.

I was of the impression they were a direct fit drop in replacement for the top feed WRX injectors, kinda looks like its not worth the hassle. :(

Finally pulled my injectors today to upgrade. I didn't think the situation was this bad :( :

Every SINGLE dimension on both is the same, only the length is less.

Any ideas on how to get these to fit? Or maybe I should stop acting like the maverick and simply go with the conventional choice.
