What voltage does the JimStim take? It doens't say ANYWHERE.

yeah, the regular stim can run off a 9V battery plug, and I know they are related. Also the docs claim you can run the whole shebang (but not write firmware reliably) on USB power, which is 5 V on a good day.
I had a 7.4V supply which fit, and worked, and then I found an external HD encloser supply (I must have 50 of those) which puts out 12V, tip positive. The Stim then puts out 11.53 V and the MS board supplies 10.97 of that to the MS-II pin, with 4.965 on the +5V lines. I guess it works. Serial communication now. And maybe beer. Mmmmm... Beer. |
Between 9 and 14-15 volts. We had been selling a 12 volt power supply for it, but the power supply has been discontinued and replaced with a later design. We hope to have the new version in stock soon.

So how many kits can I put on the board? I think I bought like a bunch of relay controllers, etc, "just in case". :-)
Anyway, real question: What's everyone's take on the baro correction? Do you mount them under the hood, or in the cab/MS box? I was tempted to put it in the box... But you'd think (and Arga mentioned this to me) that there's a subtle pressure difference at speed or with the blower on, etc. I'm thinking of mounting it in the box and running a reference line out to under the hood.... But it seems like most people run wires out? -Abe. |

That was my very first take on it, to reuse the OEM sensor - I'm sure it's just a different slope or something... But eveyrone said you have to use the same sensor type for both.
Anyway, so that's one vote for running the wires out and mounting the sensor under the hood. -Abe. |
You cant use the stock sensor. Yes, I run wires for both sensors as I have both under the hood. I don't use the stock Motorola sensor.

I'd put it under the hood. Wanna see the pressure difference with your own eyes? Close your doors/windows, turn the blower to full blast, and switch it between vent and recirc. Behold the magical expanding top!
