Dwell settings

I think I'm getting a random hesitation when driving due to my dewll settings being too low and the spark being blown out, is this feasable? or am I talking nonsense and it's something else?

afaik i'm not getting any ECU resets or interference or anything like that, and it's only done it since I hooked spark up (which works flawlessley bar this annoyance)

I'm using the stock ignitors on 1.8 coils and have the dwell set at 2.2ms but I'm scared to up it incase I fry my coils, :eek5:

Should I just up it to 2.5 and see what happens?

You can try to increase the dwell.

But as a first option you sould get some data logs of the hesitation problem and make sure that the problem is what you think it is. Some of the guys on the msefi forum are geniuses at interpreting those logs, so post them there as well.

I have set the dwell time to 2,4ms and it is working fine for the 1.8 coils with integrated ignitors.
Spark blowout will not occur with 2,2ms dwell, even in boost. Running too lean will make the engine hesitate.

LOL turned out my Magnecore lead on plug 1 wasn't sat 'home' properly.... DOH!

I do still have an occasional miss, but i'm positive it's tuning related. It's extremly hard to track down in datalogs tho..
