ECU not engaging compressor
I completely have run out of options. My 01 sat for about 8 months. When I picked it up it needed a battery and a master slave. When I started my 3 hour journey home, I realized the ac wasn't working. Next day open hood and look around. The passenger side fan would not go on. I fiddled and farted around with it. New relays and fuse. So a couple weeks ago I decide to let a shop work on the car. I went to a local Miata specialist. He seemed to think it was ecu related and didn't work with ms. The performance shop next door does. I go there. In less than 10 minutes had both fans running. He moved pins or something I didn't understand. He didn't have Gauges so I went to an ac shop. They told me ecu isn't giving compressor power or ground. I forget which. The original shop that messed with it won't call me back. Furthermore, with ac running, only the passenger side goes on until it hits my temp, which is 195. Can anybody offer any insight? I can't even find a place that will return my calls.
Usually there's a setting in the ECU that will turn the main fan on when AC is engaged. It's likely that the setting is disabled so the main fan only runs based on coolant temp.
Did AC work when the car was parked? Does the light on the AC button come on when you press the button?
If you pull the tune off the ECU then we'd have more to go on, but if it worked when it was parked then I can't imagine it's tune related (although if they messed with wiring who knows where things are at now).

Ac worked when parked. Light comes on in dash and fans kick when you hit it. Just had it vacuumed and filled. As soon as I can get my laptop running, I'll post a tune. Someone mentioned drivers go bad in ms. Has anyone had experience with that? If I can't figure it out, do you think diy auto can fix it?
