what year is your car? if it's a 94-97 you don't need to buy anything. the wiring harness runs along the passenger door and can easily be removed to move the ecu up to the front.

fuck ya thats expensive, i wanted to do that to or make a custom mount somwhere.

93 miata... sorry i wasn't specific, i thought i put that down but i guess i was only thinking 93 miata in my head haha

i think i'm just only gonna drag the megasquirt ECU to hte glovebox..... drill 2 holes in the glovebox for spark+fuel between the ecu and megasquirt (in case of emergency) and voila.... DONE

XxGoKoUxX 12-24-2007 01:16 AM

unless cjernigan can do the boomslang for like 20-30$.... (which i doubt is possible haha)

XxGoKoUxX 12-24-2007 01:27 AM

75$ shipped within the US i think...

i think i'll just find a DB37 extension, leave stock ecu, and drag the other one to the glovebox :)

That's the cost of materials. The labor involved in making the harnesses is worth more than that. Maybe you could buy the materials and pay a mexican to build you one.

Bryce 12-24-2007 01:59 AM

Or build it yourself:bigtu:

XxGoKoUxX 12-24-2007 02:57 AM

lol nahh... i didn't wanna waste cjernigan's time hahaha... like i told him... i'm a kid on a budget.... right now i'm flat broke still, even with my birthday money

If you want to DIY a DB37 you can get connectors from FRY's or radioshack. Though I'm pretty sure you can buy a premade cable for $10 or less somewhere.

yup... ordered the 10$ cable, thanks for the help cjernigan

One thing you need to be careful with cables - they may not have all the connectors if they're designed for computer applications, and they may not be very thick wire. An automotive harness will typically use 20 gauge wire at the very least; you may get thin phone-cable type wire in a computer cable.
