External switch to swap between 2 different maps?
Is there a way to trigger the MS (MSPNP) to run secondary fuel and spark map via an external switch? I'd like to run a switch which both enables the W/I pump and swap the MS onto a secondary - more aggressive- spark map while swapping to a second fuel table to match.
I noticed there is a 'spark table 2' option in Tunerstudio, but in my case it's greyed out. Is this a shortfall of the MS1 code? Possible? Who's done it? |
Only real problem is we didn't put the hardware for the switch input on the board. If you wish to add it, see this link.

Do any assembled megasquirts come with this built in? Is it easy to build into a diypnp, because it looks like it's pretty difficult to add-on to the 3.57 board in the mspnp.

the DIYPNP has these built in, yes. the DIYPNP is pretty strigth forward to build. Much easier than any other kit unit.

Sorry for the spoon feeding your highness, but could you elaborate on the difficulties of building a Ms2 kit compared to the diypnp?

the diypnp uses the microsquirt board. that itself can run your car. the diypnp mainboard allows the micosquirt to attach to it, then it has break off circuits that allow you to add circuits like relays, inputs, high side driver, boost, etc. It also contains the connector for the OEM wiring, so you just have to run jumpers to the correct spot on the connector board and you have yourself a self-contained PNP ECU.
The ms2 kits, if using the v2.2, v3.0, or v3.57 board are essentially the same as the microsquirt itself. You have to populate the main board and then customize it for your application and add additional circuits where space allows. Once completed and ready to rock and roll, you still then have to build some sort of harness to attach your MS to the car. this right here: http://www.microsquirtmodule.com/mic...V2.2_front.jpg is more or less this: http://www.rs-autosport.net/catalog/...cts/MS-208.jpg |
