Fab9 COPS, engine wont start

1 Attachment(s)
I Will be calling fab later tomorrow but just wanted to post cause maybe I'm just missing a setting. Uploaded my base map if something is not set.

Just received my COP kit from fab for a 96. Installed it and the engine doesn't start. With the stock ignition pack and coils, the engine starts up just fine.

I'm running an MS3pro, and unsure if I have to change a few settings to get these cops to fire properly. I tested the cops with MS and coil A fires cyl 1 and 4, coil b fires cyl 2 and 3. I'm not sure if it actually creates a spark but i can hear and feel the packs click. Will try taking the spark plugs out and actually seeing if they are sparking.

Maybe the wiring pinout is wrong?

The wiring is correct if coil A spark on 1 & 4 and B sparks on 2 & 3.

I won't say this is not the Nth time people are having issues with the Fab9 coils. These are CDI coils and are being driven by an inductive ignition module. I expect issues.

They're total shit, just do yourself a favor and throw them in the garbage now. Either go to Toyota or LS coils.

Mine had problems right out of the box which Fab9 wouldn't help with, and then they started melting after one track event.

damn as a Miata vendor, I thought their COPs were decent. Really wish I knew they were so iffy, would of spent a bit more for a LS kit. Silly me.

Well I'm kind of stuck with these COPs for now so I'd at least wanna try to get them to work. I've seen a few miata builds run these, and push 350hp~ so they can't be that bad:noes:. But If they die on me I'll just convert to LS coils. I tested them out side of the engine and they do spark sooooo, idk why they won't start when cranking :sad2: it has to be a MS setting I'm not seeing, unless these are just garbage

I just got my fab9 coil plug n play last week for my FFS 97 miata and when I installed it over the weekend I ran to similar issue you had posted here. So, how did you get it working? I contacted their support but still waiting for a response.

I threw it away and went with flowforce ls coils.

To be fair, I've run close to 350hp on stock VVT coils, NGK wires, and plugs gapped to .022. So saying the Fab9 kit is good for 350hp doesn't impress me, all the of stories about their issues doesn't help either.

I think VVT coils are a ton stronger then the earlier years. If I was doing a basic VVT engine swap I would probably switch the coils with them also from now on.

The fail9 cops don't work. DON'T BUY THEM.
