finally, MS on the way

finally ordered my megasquirt from Scott (Braineack):)

I want to understand this thing and get tuning before I go turbo. Maybe pick up a few hp (96rwhp FTL) by deleting the maf and tweaking fuel and spark settings.

With a proper tune it drives like a totally different car even while NA

Oscar 02-02-2008 10:08 AM

let's hope so.
delete the maf and relocate air filter to coldside, might even gain some improved throttle response too
getting an LC-1 too, might aswell do it right the first time :)

i got mine and i built a custom intake out of intake pipes, and deleted the AFM, sounds like a monster intake when it turns off like a truck lol i cant get it running right now but when i do il get a video. I located mine behind the headlight and got a headlight intake Attachment 214625

still going to try and make a heat shield and direct the air from the head light to it, i mite get it running today.

+1. once youve had a standalone with a good tune you'll never want to go back... excpt for emissions, and that's a maybe.

Oscar 02-03-2008 04:04 PM

is it that much of a difference? I expect a few hp to pick up, but a totally different car?
I can't wait now :)

miataz 02-03-2008 06:41 PM

ya, i think it will be a big difference, i cant wait to get it running either and get it dynoed, i put my headlight intake cover on td, shitty fitment, but il get the body shop to fix that :) il get a pic later

booyah:cool:

MS came in today, together with standalone harness, IAT sensor, Innovate LC-1, KnocksenseMS and the FM mounting bolt and some vacuum line .:jerkit:
Just waiting for the header to arrive and I can start tinkering around, too bad my mother took the laptop on holiday:vash:

ya man you will love it, i am in love with mine the car pulls so much harder. I did a 30ft burnout today haha with my 17s on and those are heavy.

Hey... Don't put the LC-1 sensor in stock location. :bang: :)

Oscar 03-15-2008 03:49 PM

started my build today.
pulled the stock header and EGR-pipe, and some various pieces of crap. testfitted my new stainless header.:jerkit:
also tore up the interior and pulled the stock ecu. need to route vacuumline, hardmount MS underneath the dashboard en install LC-1 and IAT sensor, aswell as making an EGR blockoff plate out of some sheet aluminum and finding a testpipe instead of the gutted cat.
bear with me..:giggle:

does the knocksenseMS have to be mounted to a motormount or can I bolt it to one of the bolt holes of where the AC bracket would be? (I have just PS)

Oscar 03-17-2008 12:41 PM

header is finally in, routed vacuum line from intake mani to passenger compartment, made an EGR blockoff plate, next is installing IAT and LC-1, together with the MS ofcourse :)
