First Startup - Newly Built VVT Swap
3 Attachment(s)
Gents,
I'm struggling with the first start of a built VVT swapped into my '90 chassis. I've searched, and read, and checked everything I can think of. I'd really like to be able to get the new motor running and broken in before the car gets put away for the winter and any advice that can come from looking at my logs would helpful. The details:

Can a misfire be the root cause of a sync issue or should I focus on looking for a problem with the sensors and their wiring and MS settings?

Problem solved: I had an insecure spark plug connection (the terminal was ~10mm farther up in the boot than the other wires) that was causing intermittent spark. I also messed with my crank angle sensor gap - adjusted it to ~5mm (again) and the car fired right up.
