Default State of the Union 07 up at msefi.com

Includes an anouncement for MS3. I'm a little disapointed MSII doesn't seem to be a primary focus but from everything I've read, they were trying to do too much with too little processing power. Looks like ion sensing is back on the table but it doesn't look good for 2007 (and only marginal for 2008).

Looks like they have some plans for mass-market MS too. Kind of reminds me when Linux went mass market in the late 90's

Well some news is always good news. With all this new stuff happening like you getting Fuel and Spark on your '99 I just don't know what to do now.

Muy interesante, especialmente la injeccion secuencial y el "ion sensing". AEM y los otros deben tener miedo.

Woot for interceptor mode!!! Maybe I can finally get megasquirt on my 97 and not worry about a CEL!

I agree, it does sound cool. Kind of a strange step to take though. Will we ever see a MS board with CARB approval?

Anyone else worried about the cost? If the box alone costs $110 (I know, group discount) add in the primary and secondary processors, the I/O circuits, COP ign drivers for an 8 cylinder, an on-board WB controller and the increasing use of pre-assembled, SMT components to fit all that in the box and I think we may be looking at $1k for a MS3 kit. To be fair, Al and Bruce seem to put a high priority on keeping costs low. Even if it's $1k, if they deliver everything they want to, that's still a pretty good deal.

Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. I think we'll see the MS1 with MSnSE code remain the most popular MS, even when all these new features come out.

to be fair that enclosure is badass. plus it includes the connectors and will probably be closer to 60-75 dollars in MS quantities.

I would expect the cost to be 50% lower in large quantities (typical). The thing comes with a wideband controller, so subtract $150 just for that. It's still way cheaper than anything equivalent on the field.
