Fuse for Coil packs, which to remove for Firmware update?
Using MS PNP Pro but need to firmware update, apparently ive been using 1.3.2, latest is 1.4.
Can I just unplug the harness and update it that way? Or unplug the coil packs? What have you all done for the firmware update. 2004 Mazdaspeed Maita. Wiring diagrams suggest the Engine 15A in the driverside compartment |
which processor does it use? I know for the microsquirt, they changed the injector drivers so you don't have to pull the coils when you flash firmware. That may be a thing of the past

I *think* that the design of the ignition output drivers in the MS3 Pro / MSPnP Pro is such that the ignition outputs do not float high when the process is in a reflash state. Been a few years since I looked at one, but my recollection is that this is one of the issues which DIY finally addressed with the design of the MS3P.
If they were to publish the schematics for the device, I'd be able to dell you definitively. But they don't. |
unplug the coil packs. it's the signal wire that's the problem, not the power wire.

From what I remember of the MS3x schematic it doesn't have this issue (i hope, haven't unplugged my coils when flashing ever, and I flash all the new betas). I assume that the ms3pro doesn't have it either.
