Hard starting in cold weather on E85

I know that starting on E85 in cold weather is more difficult than on gasoline, but last winter on the stock ECU with aids and E85 I didn't have much difficulty.

Since I put in the MS3 I haven't had to mess with the starting parameters at all, so now that cold weather is arriving I don't know exactly what to mess with or how to go about making it start better. I have noticed that sometimes (not always) it will start better if I crack the throttle open a bit while cranking.

Thanks for any advice,

Keith

You want much more cranking pulse to start off. Everything below 60F is going to need to be increased more and more as it gets colder

you might want some more ASE in those areas too

For cracking the throttle you can use the coolant based cranking duty% table, use the IAC valve to crack the throttle more at lower temperatures, basically. You can force it to hold longer before going back to warmup/closed loop too, crank to run taper time in idle control menu.
