Got the car started. idles like crap. smells like to much fuel. tries to idle over 1500rpm, sounds and feels like its missing.

rev built ms2 extra with pnp harness, no afm.

90 miata only current mods are headers and full exhaust.

Stock injectors?

If it is rich, adjust it leaner.

If it idles too high, adjust it lower.

Did you set your base timing with a timing light?

Twiztedmiata 03-21-2014 04:41 PM

Yes I did. Many times. What and where do I adjust to make it leaner and idle lower.i tried to use auto tune but it just makes it die

Twiztedmiata 03-21-2014 10:19 PM

Yes stock injectors

Adjust the VE table in the cells that are active when idling downward numerically until such time as you reach a desirable AFR. You can adjust your target idle speed in the More Settings: Idle Control section.

I do not see a more settings idle control. under the idle options i do have i dont see anywhere to set the idle.

Mine is an MS1 so it is different, I guess.

vTPS installed and calibrated? Why is your AFR signal flat?

Twiztedmiata 04-01-2014 02:42 PM

stock tps and narrowband. I think i should atleast be able to get it to idle.

Reverant 04-01-2014 02:48 PM

Not without a vTPS and a wideband to check the fueling.

bearda 04-01-2014 09:03 PM

vTPS isn't going to help you much with tuning idle, but the lack of a wideband is going to suck. I'd offer to give you some pointers (I'm in Germantown) but trying to tune without a wideband ranks right up there with sticking your dick in a blender and turning it to "whip". And that before you get to acceleration enrichment.

Reverant 04-02-2014 05:21 AM

The ECU is designed for use with a vTPS. Without one, he's not going to have a proper CL idle.

How will you tune with a narrowband?
