how to adapt stock base map (VE)
i was having a lot of trouble with my car idling on the MSPnP (mk1 1.6) when i removed the AFM for some reason so i followed the guides on here, to get it all set up nicely under warm-up mode and then going back to closed loop control and that's all fine - but my VE table requires 52% around the idle cells, whereas the 'stock' map has around 33%.
Until i can fit my LC-1 what's the best way to scale the stock VE map given this difference? shall i just leave the 100kPa line as it is and scale accordingly? i'm running stock injectors so have not adjusted the req_fuel field, it's set at 13.4 |
Skinny, you'r really going to struggle to tune without your wide and installed. Do that before rescaling anything, your shooting completely blindly otherwise.

Not tuning AFR with a wideband is a dangerous/foolish decision.

skinny, I believe that megatune has a function to rescale the fuel table based on a new req_fuel. That would be the easiest solution. You can tune with a narrowband, but it's time consuming, and you'll never get it very accurate. But it's not a good idea if the motor is highly strung or turbo'd. But near-stock it's ok.... Before I purchased a WB02 I tuned my miata with a narrowband and MLV. After installing the WB I checked out the tune, and it wasn't that bad. Too rich, but safe.

I had the same experience tuning with a NB sensor on an N/A engine.
But Skinny has a UK only BBR turbo car, he needs to fit that WB pronto. |
Ah, yeah, don't fool around with that :). I messed around with one of the new MTX-L's from Innovate... it seems like a nice replacement for the LC-1. Much easier to wire up.

ok thanks, i'll see if i can figure out how to hook up the LC-1 this weekend, and stay out of boost in the meantime!
