How to install rc550 low ohm?

I have the rsistors and clips but how do I wire it up? For some odd reason there isn't a sticky...... :jerkit:

It's not hard. You just wire them inline, between the injector and the 12V source. Simple enough.

Need a diagram?

Found this online. Most people use some type of resistor box, and these and how most common resistor boxes are wired up/made.

Thats pretty much what I did. Got some 10 watt 10 ohm resistors and soldered them onto the 4 wires. A zip tie and some shrink tubing keep it safe.

If you're using the original miata harness, I believe it's always "hot," so, as with any electrical work, make sure to disconnect the battery first.

Also, are you sure you need this? A lot of MS boxes nowadays come with a flyback board and then all you have to do is set your PWM values for your injectors without the need of injector resistors.

Batch fire cars only need 2 resistors. That's half the work. ;)

Matt @ DIY Recommended that I install 4 resistors total. There is 4 wires all the way back to the ECU, and supposedly the MSPNP has some sort of flyback circuit built in but the miata harness doesn't like it or something? Not really 100% sure.

So I installed 4 resistors and it works perfectly.

Contact FM, they should be able to tell you how to install these. The stuff I sent you originally came from an FM kit. A search on miata.net might also give you the answer.

why are we searching m.net?

injectors have a power and ground.
Install (1) 10watt 10ohm resistor on each 12v wire leading into each injector.
profit.

Because what he has is from an old FM setup and comes with a resister board. How many people here are running one of those?

no big deal just gotta find the diagram for the plug now, lol Also scored me a VTPS off an auto miata today, then on to cops next week!! My car will be down here shortly had a booboo with my mani so I'll have some time to get things straightened out!!

Braineack 09-14-2009 12:52 PM

hopefully you got the entire TB assembly....

p51hellfire 09-15-2009 10:00 PM

why^^ thought it fits..... the 1.6 manual...

Braineack 09-15-2009 11:00 PM

no. it doesnt fit onto the manual TB shaft.

p51hellfire 09-15-2009 11:45 PM

gayness.....

On my SE-R I wired the resistor between the injector and the ECU right at the ECU. As long as the resistance is there it doesn't matter which side of the injector it's on.

got it all done thanks for all the help!! :)
