Default DIYPNP

I just pulled the trigger on ordering a DIYPNP. I've gone through the saved thread regarding on building the MS (but its outdated), read through the assembly documentation and a couple threads here and there regarding the assembly. Any tips I should know before I begin putting it together?

I plan on purchase the AFM/MAF Delete kit.
Ordering a WLC100(about $35) soldering station as my current solder iron is horrendous.
Purchase TunerStudio MS (possibly ultra)
My car is pretty much completely stock as I don't want to change anything until I get use to MS.

I was where you are just about one year ago.

I think you're gonna want to do a wideband O2 sensor at the same time.

take good hi res pictures to share if you want the forum to diagnose hardware issues.

I updated my profile but I couldn't find where to add a signature, but for the sake of this thread, I have a '97 Miata. A wideband is the next budget item on the list to purchase.

skylinecalvin, How is the build going? I've have my DIYPNP for 7 months now, still in the package! It's a 42 pin setup for my '89 Isuzu Trooper RS 2-door. I'll be done with the engine in a few weeks (turbocharging the 2.6 4cyl), so I need to assemble the MS soon. I hope you've been able to make some progress.

I have yet to get it working as I don't have much time with school starting. Due to time constraints, I'm sending it over to Ohio ECU Solutions on facebook. He said he'll take a quick look at it. I recommend you join the Houston Miata Club Group on facebook. We have some pretty knowledgeable MS people over here.

currently in the assembly process of a DIYPNP for a 94 miata. does anyone have a picture of how the pull up jumpers are setup? ie how do you go about connecting the resistors for the pull ups?

Also haven't seen anything about removing the ST SIGN fuse in regards to a DIYPNP install. Should that fuse still be removed?

The ST SIGN fuse is only removed for '90-'93 models. '94 and later are wired for the ECU to control the fuel pump relay with a simple ground wire to the relay coil, as God and Joseph Henry intended.
