i fucking screwed up my MS..

Q14 and 15, two of those tiney ass dioed things. Well when I was soldering i bridged the connctions, and now I cannotget them to become un bridged. I used a de soldering gun, scrapeing the bord with a fine tip, everything. what should I do? The MS doesent light up at all when plugged into the stim..

UrbanSoot 01-03-2008 08:28 PM

maybe you fried those diodes?

Braineack 01-03-2008 08:35 PM

do you not have some copper desoldering wire? run to radio shack and ghrab a roll $3-4.

lay it on the legs of the transitors, press your tip onto of it and heat that shit up, you'll mop all the solder right up like water with a sponge.

if you're never going to use low ohm injectors, you can skip building the pwm flyback circuit and jump R37 and R38.

hell, bridge the connections temporarily and see if that solves the communication issue.

Saml01 01-03-2008 08:37 PM

You should have gotten a solder sucker. Its the single most important tool other then the iron when soldering.

cardriverx 01-03-2008 08:45 PM

it is Q14 and Q15. The problem is I have them out, but the little holes are still bridged even when there is no solder, I think I messed up the bord in that area. Im checking if they are bridged with an ohm meter, when they are bridged it reads 0 ohms.

Can I leave out Q14 and 15? I only plan to use high imp. injectors. What if the 3 little pads are still bridged?

Saml01 01-03-2008 09:02 PM

Dont be lazy, get a solder sucker and clean em out and do it right once.

I did and I tried, they still are bridged?

Ok, I bridged r37 and r38, when I plug he stim in the PMP light goes on for 2 sec then goes off. What does this mean?

cardriverx 01-03-2008 09:32 PM

AHA! success! I got megatune to recoginize it when the ini is set at MS1. But I cannot get Msnse to write to MS, what exactly do I need to bridge> The 2 holes in the little box that says boot?

Saml01 01-03-2008 09:37 PM

Yes.

cjernigan 01-03-2008 09:38 PM

Yes jump the boot loader. Follow the instructions for heck sake.

cardriverx 01-03-2008 10:07 PM

Now im getting this message... wtf? :vash:

i was getting that message but resolved it.... did u jump the gun and set ur megatune to msns_extra before you downloaded the firmware? .... if u havent downloaded the firmware yet test it under normal MS1 .... just go to the configurator in megatune and set it to MS1

cardriverx 01-03-2008 10:22 PM

I already downloaded the firmware to MS. This started happening when I downloaded the firmware.

Braineack 01-03-2008 10:25 PM

communication error when you flashed it. try to download it again.

cardriverx 01-03-2008 10:41 PM

This doesent look right.. what the fudge.?

cardriverx 01-03-2008 11:16 PM

noone before I go to bed?

Braineack 01-03-2008 11:19 PM

???? ask jerry or matt. someone else was having a similar problem.

cardriverx 01-03-2008 11:24 PM

jerry or matt? Its weird, everything works right except when I d/l the firmware onto the MS it changes the signature into a bunch of symbols, then that messes up megatune

cardriverx 01-03-2008 11:46 PM

I got it to work! I used an older vertion of MS installer! woo!
