Default PWM idle valve

Hi all,
I'm fresh to allthis megasquirt jazz after just throwing a pnp on my '90 na6 with 265 cams with more plans ahead, just after a bit of help or info on the pwm valve.

I have put a manifold off a NB6 which has the same throttle body as the other NBs to gain the variable tps and when I hooked up the idle valve is seems to work but sometimes makes a wierd noise so I unplugged it for now. I think the settings on the pnp don't match what the new valve needs so the question is does anyone have any values to work with the nb pwm? I found a set in a search which was posted by hustler

Get the 93/94 .msq from the DIY PNP website. That has the correct 1.8 idle settings. If you keep running the 1.8 idle with the 1.6 settings you will kill the idle valve.

Those won't be right either, the OP is using the NB Idle valve.

There's a good thread on m.net here, a few posts down a guy in the UK chimes in who is trying to supress the noise from an NB idle valve, note he has a LINK ecu and can't alter the idle valve frequency....

There may be some hints in there for a frequency to shoot for aswell.

Still having trouble with the idle. Are you running the nb motor? Ans if you are what idle valve settings are you using?

Thanks, Tim

I'm running a NB engine with basically the same settings as the updated 1.8 msq from DIY. The only difference is that I'm running a dashpot adder of 2 instead of the usual setting of 1.

I haven't confirmed, but I always suspected the NB valve would be the same as on the 94-95 car, if so those idle settings would be a good starting point. The 90-93 valve is definitely different from the 94-97 valve though.
