Default Help! FM2 Turbo Won't Start in Dallas!

Hey...

I have had a FM2 turbo (with Megasquirt) for 2 years now and it has always had cold start issues, it takes several times to get it to fire and hold RPMs high enough...

However, took it out for a drive yesterday and stopped and tried to start it back up, and it won't fire at all...finally wore the battery down...

I have known i need to get the cold starting/dying at first issue fixed, but now it is a ASAP issue, as i can't leave it where it is, and being new to Dallas TX, i have no idea who to take it to, since it most likely needs the ECU remapped or some such fix, and a local normal mechanic will not know what to do...

Ideas? Ideas for who to go to in Dallas for an ASAP issue?

Thanks
Randy

First check if you are not getting a spark - do you see an RPM signal in the tuning software when you crank?

I personally don't have any tuning software...would a 'normal' mechanic be able to deal with this issue, or do i need to go to a proper MS tuning type shop (remember, it has had cold start probs and some idling probs since i bought it over a year ago), have never had it re-tuned...

I would never take my car to a normal mechanic and ask them to do anything that involved the ECU. There is not a chance in hell they will know what a megasquirt is anyway, let alone have a laptop setup with Megatune or Tunerstudio.

If you have a laptop, then you CAN solve this yourself. MS is really user friendly and if you're going to have this car for awhile, it's best you get familiar with the ECU.
