I want to hire somone to set up my launch control.
give me your price!.....I am located in berkeley California. bay area...MSPNP
|
Do you want the price including round trip air fare?
|
I'll do it for round-trip train fare. Sleeper cabin preferred.
Seriously, though- it's not that hard. The upper clutch switch is already wired to the ECU, so according to the MSPNP documentation, all you need to do is wire two pins together on the center connector. For '90-'95, it's pins 12 & 13, for '96-'97, it's pins 10 & 11. That done, it's just a matter of enabling it in the software. Reference: '90-'93 '94-'95 '96-'97 |
Super easy, give it a try.
|
Or put in your own push button moment contact switch so you can blow your muffler up, like me! ;)
|
Sorry to drag up an old post, but which conector would i jumper on a home built MS ?
|
Here's the relevant documentation: MSnS-Extra Hardware Manual
Assuming you have an MS1 on a 3.0 PCA, you'll need to build this circuit inside the MS: http://img33.picoodle.com/img/img33/...hm_996c439.gif On your '93, the clutch switch comes to the ECU connection on a brown / white wire at position 1V. The other side of it closes to ground when active. You can pass this connection out whatever pin is free on the DB37. edit: See where it says "DB36" on the schematic? Pretend that says DB37. |
Would i build that in the proto area ?
Im just alittle confused were that would go, once i have the bored in my hand and start building it will be easyier for me to understand. If anyone has a picture of it built that would help alot but if not ill figure it out. |

Edit: in the diagram where it all goes to pin26, can't you just wire that to the +5v in the proto area? |
Ahh the edit makes alittle more sense, weres js11 ? ive beening looking through the stuff i have and just dont see it.
Edit: i see js11 its by the js10 wich is used for the tach input and spark output mods. |

Ok so i just run a wire from pin 26 to the proto area and one from js11 to the proto area. build that circuit then put it through an open connection on the db37 to the clutch wire on the oem harness.
If thats right them im good to go. |

have fun blowing up your muffler! I know I do.
|
I dont have one.. well its basicly just a resanator.. and it was only $15 so if it does ill just get another one.
BTW flames are bad ass!! Everyone loves watching a miata Shoot flames. But a 4k Launch doesnt work to well even with my shitty tune. |
well you probably wont' blow it up, but it sure sounds like a shotgun. at least on my setup. I've popped fireballs out of my stock exhaust with the cat removed a ton of times, and it still works. its probably a little louder now than it used to be though. i can't really tell.
|
I did mine that way, but I havn't blow up my muffler, how did you do it?
So I can avoid doing the same thing.

I dont think you could create enough pressure to blow the muffler.
I wouldnt worrie about it.. but if you really are set the limiter type to Spark or spark and fuel cut, that way there is no fuel to explode in the exhaust. With fuel cut only it cuts slower.. like spark cut is a quick BAP BAP BAP were as Fuel cut is BAP......BAP....BAP I can take a video if you want, but just try it out. |
I've never heard firsthand of people blowing their mufflers, but if you have a catalytic converter, you will ruin it very quickly with spark cut only. spark cut is easier on your engine though. And for an added bonus, you get an occasional fireball if you hold a spark cut rev limiter too long.
|
When I've tried launch control, I get BAP......BAP....BAP. I thought something was wrong, from sport bikes I'm use to the really quick BAP BAP BAP like I'm bouncing off the regular rev limit.
