Default dwell settings for coil on plug retrofit

I'm having a tough time finding the data I need. And frankly, I don't know what forum to address this question to. The MS forum has a section for MSII ignition issues, but not one for MSI issues

Anyway as elsewhere stated, I've got a set of Toyota COPs Denso # 90080-19015 retrofitted and functional. I understand these coils have some sort of smart dwell function.

So, should I use a 'fixed' dwell of 2.5ms @ 12V as per JasonC's findings, OR should I allow the coils to set their own dwell and fire either by increasing the dwell time in the 'fixed' mode out of range high or by going to the duty cycle mode?

I know the Bosch coils (like used on a mercedes) use a smart dwell function set their own dwell times. What about these Densos?

Thx for ANY help, or kick in the right direction.

I used 2.5ms based on Jason's findings.

Since the extra firmware supports dwell control, no reason to use the smart-dwell module.

if you do wanna use the smart-dwell of the coils, i believe you use the fixed duty cycle outputs of 50% or 75% instead giving it a dwell time.
