Default stock gauge cluster

Alright, I am rewiring a car fully for my friend. EVERYTHING that is. I have searched and searched, but can not find an answer to where the tach signal comes from for the stock gauge cluster. What sensor does the stock tach read from.
I am using a MS-1 PCB 3.0 and EDIS-4 for ignition. If it was my choice I would just go aftermarket gauges but he is set on using stock.
I need info also what sensor the temp gauge on the cluster reads from.
Thanks,
Rich-

Depends on the year.
From '90-'93, the tach signal comes from the igniter, specifically the yellow/blue wire at position D.
For '94-'95.5, it comes from both coils, the black/white wire at each in parallel.
For '96-'97, it comes from the ECU, a black/white wire at position 4L.
For '99-'00, it's at the ECU, green/orange at position 2K.
For '01-'05, the green/orange wire is at position 3O.

I need info also what sensor the temp gauge on the cluster reads from.
On the NA, there is a single-wire sensor on the back of the head to feed the dash gauge, and a separate two-wire sensor for the ECU. On the NB, both sensors are combined into a single housing with a three pin connector- two wires for the ECU sensor and one for the dash gauge. (In all years, the dash gauge sensor grounds through the body of the device, whereas the ECU sensor has an isolated ground.)

Thanks a lot! This is for a 97 motor, I should have put that. I am now assuming that I can not use the stock tachometer with edis then? I would think the signal is going to be completely different.

yay for another person doing this to a 97! there's slightly less documentation on 96-97 just because slightly less people do it to them. You're going to have to build the tach driver circuit in the proto area to get your tach to work.

I just did this like a week ago. I was able to find that transistor at radio shack. The +12v goes to anything in the box thats +12v, so I just soldered it to the +12v side of my voltage regulator. ground is obvious, and then the 'selected pin on the pcb' would be any output that you haven't used in the js0-4 series (look in megatune at 'tacho output pin' it has to be one of those) then solder the 'to tacho' into one of your spare IAC outputs if you haven't used them for other stuff yet.

haha no, not yet, friend doesn't have the cash right now. My 99 was going to have them, but I sadly had to sell the car.

buy them from fuji racing, they're out of florida and have amazing customer support. They'd also be eactly like mine so I could answer any question about it.

Nothing personal to you, but I don't like Fuji. I prefer the DCOE Jenvey throttles, or we might just use blacktop 4age, or GSXR750 throttles. Again thanks for your help!

I've just had good experiences with fuji and would recommend them to anyone (I did buy them used though, I wouldn't be able to afford their sticker price), but it would also be cool to see how another setup stacks up.

You're welcome, good luck! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions. I consider myself to be pretty versed with MS-I problems on a 97 with ITB's cause I've probably ran into every conceivable issue at this point.
