Idiot light weirdness
 

Gents,

I just had a glorious weekend at VIR. They ran the Grand Course on Sunday. The weather was perfect. The only negative for the whole weekend happened on track on Sunday. The seat belt light came on very dim. I could barely make out what it was. It got brighter and dimmer or went completely out randomly. I have five-point harnesses for track days, and use the OEM belts for the commute. It changed brightness again the next session randomly, then just went out. It did not come on today during the trip home while using the OEM belt. I've been tracking this car since 2011 with the same seat belt configuration--over 150 track days and 70,000 miles--and I've never seen that light come on.

Any words of wit would be greatly appreciated.

On the NB8A (and I presume the 8B as well) the seatbelt light is de-activated by the belt being pulled out a few inches (rather than being actually clicked into the buckle or not)

It may just have been that the belt hadn't retracted fully and was sitting around about the area that activates the light, making it come on and off as the belt moved slightly.
