nobody on here has a TPS tell him to use mapdot. Our tps's are on/off switches doesn't he know that go into the basic settings tab and switch the slide bar to 100% map why didnt he leave the base msq in there what kind of hack are you dealing with here.

You already have a base map.

MegaTune is EXTREMELY easy to work with. No way they have 5 hours in it without result. It tunes just like every other ECU out there. They shouldn't have needed more than 10 minutes to get themselves situated.

They are sort of correct when they tell you that there is no TPS signal. Your car does not have a linear TPS. They were not introduced until 1994.

That's correct-- your CAR doesn't have the proper type of TPS that he's looking for, and though it's nice to have it's not really needed at all. It does have a TPS, but not a linear potentiometer type like most cars have so you can't get a smooth 0-100% TPS signal from it. It's a simple on/off switch and therefore it's pretty much useless.

We spent about 5 hours tuning Ben's car to completion-- and we wasted alot of time as the dyno operator kept getting phone calls, we went out to lunch, etc.

sounds like the dyno operator is an idiot, you should really read up dick around and become familiar with what the megasquirt is doing before taking it to a dyno. There are quite a few different settings available and knowledge of the sort might save you (and the dyno operator) lots of time.

its possible that my dynotuner can contact you,he said he want to talk to the maker or that know about this system,my car still at his shop for a week now,he said he dont understand about software under tuning and realtime, the throttle % at 50 % he said why is not at 5% at idle, and he want to know if that pnp is been calibtrated to all sensor to miata.pls email me of your tel no#,so i can take my car home,he said the software is not that difficult after all its just someway hes not sure what the heck his doing i think like you said as a dyno tuner how much do you average charge about this pnp system to tune and dyno?

yess as we have all said it is calibrated for the sensors, And you do not have a real TPS that is why your tuner is having problem maybe most hondas have a real tps but we don't like i said in my first post move the tab for acceleration to 100% map and you will be fine. The system should have fired right up so long as all he changed was the required fuel. It seems like your tuner tryed to cowboy it and make his own map not knowing anything about miatas bad idea. The unit you where provided is 90% likely to be in perfect working condition esp with the base map provided and seting as provided. Any major departures by your tuner are rather stupid esp if he does not understand the software and hardware he is dealing with.

that exactly what hes doing,he tried to make his own base map,and he said the only problem right now is that when he step on ga s about 2-3 rpm and hold between that rpm range it fluctuat he said, what do you think is problem?

Check your email. I've sent you a phone number.

my car still at his shop for a week now,he said he dont understand about software under tuning and realtime, the throttle % at 50 % he said why is not at 5% at idle,
The Miata TPS is just an on-off switch, while Megasquirt is built around using either MAPDot or a potentiometer type TPS. You can't make the TPS reading go away, but the standard MSPNP settings are to completely ignore the TPS reading. As it's an on-off switch, there's no way we could make it give an accurate percent reading - it's only capable of reading 0%, 100%, or "Somewhere between 0 and 100, but nobody knows where." And the Megasquirt can tell by other means if the throttle is closed or open so the 0 and 100 signals don't do anything. So that 50% is just a placeholder.

and he want to know if that pnp is been calibtrated to all sensor to miata.
It's calibrated to the Miata CAS, IAT sensor (with an alternate calibration for a GM IAT swap), coolant temperature sensor, and O2 sensor. It bypasses the Miata AFM and ignores the TPS.
